Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Blindspot, the trading journal and analytics service at blindspotjournal.com, operated from the United Kingdom ("we", "us" — contact details in section 11). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Blindspot.
1. The service
Blindspot imports your broker fill exports, derives round-trip trades, and provides journaling and performance analytics. The service is currently in beta and provided free of charge. Features may change, be added, or be removed as the product develops. If we later introduce paid plans, we will give you clear notice before anything starts costing money — nothing converts to paid silently.
2. Not financial advice
Blindspot is an analytics and journaling tool. Nothing in the service — statistics, charts, metrics, or any other output — is investment advice, a trading recommendation, or a suggestion to buy or sell any instrument. Trading futures involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. Decisions you make based on your data are yours alone.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Blindspot.
- Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Provide a valid email address — it is how we reach you about your account and how password recovery works.
- One account is for one person. Don't share credentials; use the built-in read-only sharing feature instead.
4. Your data
- You own your data. Trades, notes, tags, screenshots, and everything else you put into Blindspot remain yours.
- You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process, and display that data solely to provide the service to you and to those you choose to share it with. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- You can export everything at any time (Settings → Export) and permanently delete your account and all data yourself (Settings → Danger Zone). See the Privacy Policy for details.
- Only upload data you have the right to use.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other users' data, or the infrastructure it runs on;
- probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the service, or scrape it by automated means;
- upload malicious content or content you have no right to upload;
- resell or provide the service to third parties as your own.
6. Availability and backups
We aim to keep Blindspot reliably available and we back up data regularly, but as a free beta the service is provided without an uptime guarantee. We recommend using the built-in export periodically so you always hold your own copy of your data.
7. Ending things
- You can stop at any time and delete your account and data yourself in Settings.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, after warning you first unless the breach is serious (e.g. attacks on the service or other users' data).
- If we ever discontinue the service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and the opportunity to export your data.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, and our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to £100 (or, if you have paid for the service, the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales — and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If a change is material we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use Blindspot after that means you accept the updated terms. The current version always lives at this page, with the date at the top.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
